We cut flat glass and it comes in 6 major thicknesses (from smallest to largest); 3/32" thick or single strength (2.3 mm), 1/8" thick or double strength (3 mm), 5/32" thick (4 mm), 3/16" thick (5 mm), 1/4" (6 mm), 3/8" (9.5 mm). You can find our many shapes and sizes of these thicknesses within their main categories. Each piece of flat glass has a smooth diamond ground (DG) edge or a swiped edge.
Diamond ground means the glass is sanded to a rounded pencil edge. It is nice and finished looking. This edge is used when someone can/will touch the edge like on a coaster, charger, table top, clock, etc...
A swiped edge flat glass is when the cut edge is sanded to take the sharpness off. It has an unfinished look. This edge is usually used when in a frame or gasket. All of the 3/32" thick glass has a swiped edge.
Please email us at [email protected] for a custom cut quote for glass fabrication. We do not stock cut sizes of 1/4" or very many 3/8" thick glass. Please ask us about them.
